| MESSAGE: | Are teams ever moved from the "B" divison to the "A" for tournaments? Does that take a request from the "B" team or is that determined by MOSSL staff? I know teams get moved around pretty freely in some of the lower divisions in the younger age brackets, but just curious if "A" is a unique situation. |

| jkdenzel On 10/22/2009 2:19:42 PM Can 2 (or even 1) teams move to the U11 Girls' GOLD division which only has 4 teams? The Bronze has 8; all others have 6. To make the GU11 divisions equal, the top 2 silver teams could move to Gold; top 2 bronze teams move to silver. Then all divisions would have 6 teams. The GU11 B division end of season top team could benefit from moving from Silver to GOLD in the MOSSL tournament. They were B division Fall champs and dominated the regular season, winning every game and scoring 52 goals for the season. The average total goals for all other teams was only 17. Moving them to Gold would make the GOLD and Silver divisions more competitive. |
| Jim Sturm On 10/15/2009 7:19:38 AM MOSSL Tournament seeding, in all divsions, is based on the standings 10 days prior to the tournanment. We start at the top of "A" and move on through the lower divsions making competively balanced groups of 6 and 8 teams, (or 5 if necessary). When possible we do try to keep the divsions from league play together for the tournament. However, that is not always possible especially in those age groups where the CLASSIC Divsion only has a few teams and/or some of the top teams opt not to play in the tournament. |
