2006 WI State Cup Champs; FC Milwaukee claims 4 titles

West Allis – FC Milwaukee Nationals sweeps 4 state cup titles, claiming championships in the U15, U16, U17 and U18 girls’ divisions. The Under-15 title was claimed on Thursday, October 27 the Voigt Soccer Park (Brookfield) with a 4-0 victory by FC Milwaukee over the Madison 56ers. The Under-18 girls’ claimed their title on Thursday, October 20 with a 3-0 win over the Middleton Yahara Blue Chips while the U16 girls earned their title by beating a tenacious Middleton Yahara side by 2-0 and the U17 girls rolled to a 7-1 title over Brookfield Red.

FC Milwaukee Nationals soccer club has secured four reservations in the 2006 US Youth Soccer Midwest Region Tournament which will be hosted by the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association in the Fox Cities, June 23-28. Congratulations to the FC Milwaukee Nationals and much thanks and appreciation to all of the participants in providing a competitive state cup tournament for the high school aged girls’ teams.

The WI State Cup is the first stage in US Youth Soccer’s National Championship Series. The WI State Cup is an open invitation tournament for any properly affiliated member club team of the WI Youth soccer association in good standing status. The Under-13 through Under-19 boys and girls team winners from the state cup advance to the US Youth Soccer Midwest Region Tournament to face competition from the other 13 mid-western states. Winners at the Under-14 through Under-19 boys’ and girls’ divisions from the regional tournament advance to the National Finals facing the champions from Regions I (northeast), III (midsouth/south) and IV (far west).

The Wisconsin State Cup is the first stage in the US Youth Soccer National Championships Series. The state cup is a qualification tournament, open to any properly affiliated team which is a member of a Wisconsin affiliated youth soccer club. The state cup identifies state champions which advance to the regional tournament to represent Wisconsin against the other 14 mid-western states. The state cup hosts U13-U19 boys and girls age divisions through the fall and spring segments of the tournament. The spring 06 round robin games will be held over the Memorial weekend in multiple locations (except U18 boys). The semi finals and finals will be played the first weekend in June for most age groups.
